Features
How do I report a problem in my residence?
Open the Incidents tab, then the + button to create an incident. Describe the problem, add photos if needed and send it: your manager is notified automatically and you follow the resolution from the app.
The feature is detailed on the Incidents page.
How do I track my incident's progress?
Open your incident to see its status: Declared, Acknowledged, In progress, Resolved then Closed. You get a notification on every status change, and you can comment on the incident to talk with your manager.
How do I flag that an incident affects me too?
On an incident created by another resident, choose Me too. Your manager then sees that the problem affects several homes, which weighs in its priority. You can opt out at any time.
How do I start a discussion?
In the Community tab, use the + button to start a discussion. Pick a topic, write your message and post it: other residents can comment and react.
What is the Community feed?
The Community tab brings together your manager’s announcements, resident discussions and residence activities. You can comment, react with an emoji and vote in polls.
Learn more: Announcements and Community.
How do I vote in a poll?
Polls appear in some announcements or discussions. Pick the option of your choice. If the poll allows multiple choices, select several answers; pick an option again to remove your vote.
How do I join an activity?
In the Community tab, open an activity to see its details (date, place, organiser), then choose Sign up to confirm your attendance. You can withdraw the same way.
How do I borrow or offer an item?
In the Community’s Item lending section, browse the items offered by your neighbours and send a borrow request. To offer an item, use the + button, add a description and a photo, then publish.
My account
I can't sign in
Three checks solve most cases:
- The email address. Sign in with the address your manager or council registered for you (the one that received the invitation). Another address will not find your residence.
- The password. On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot password: you receive a link to create a new one.
- Email verification. When the account is created, a verification email is sent; until its link is opened, sign-in may be refused. See I did not receive the verification email.
If the app says no residence is linked to your account, see My residence does not show up. Otherwise, write to us with the email address you use: we check your account.
I did not receive the verification email
After creating your password, an email asks you to confirm your address. Its link opens a nidz.fr page confirming the verification, then you can sign in.
Nothing received? Check your spam folder (junk, promotions) and the spelling of the address you typed. If the email has not arrived after a few minutes, write to us with the address you used: we send the link again.
How do I edit my profile?
Open the menu from your avatar, then My profile. There you can edit your information, photo and interests. Your profile is visible to the residents of your residence.
How do I change my password?
Open the menu then Settings, Change my password. You receive an email with a secure link to choose a new one. Forgot your password? The same link is offered on the sign-in screen.
How do I manage my notifications?
Open the menu then Settings, Notifications section. There you adjust your preferences (including emails) and manage notifications device by device: each phone or tablet signed in to your account can be muted or turned back on.
How do I delete my account?
Open the menu then Settings, Deactivate my account. You are asked to confirm. You then have 30 days to reactivate it by signing in again; after that, the account is permanently deleted and your personal data anonymised, as described in our privacy policy.
How do I update the app?
On mobile, updates go through the App Store (iPhone, iPad) or Google Play (Android): open the Nidz listing and choose Update if the button shows. On the web, the app is always up to date: simply reload the page.
A screen that does not behave as described here is often the sign of an old version.
My home and residence
My residence does not show up, or the app says access is limited
Your account is linked to your home by your manager (property manager, landlord, council). If the app says no residence is linked to your account, it is usually one of these situations:
- The link has not been made yet. Contact your manager: they add your home in a few seconds.
- Another email address was registered. Ask them to check the address, or sign in with the one that received the invitation.
- You were not invited. If your residence already uses Nidz, submit an access request from the app: the manager approves it and links you to your home.
Your residence does not use Nidz yet? See how to bring it in.
Where do I see my home's information?
Open the menu then My home (or My homes if you have several). You will find the floor, the building and the associated residence, as well as the declared occupants.
How do I see the other residents?
From the menu, choose My neighbours to browse the residents of your residence and open their profile. Only residents linked to the same residence as you are visible.
How do I add an occupant to my home?
If you are the tenant of the home, open its page and choose Add an occupant. Enter their first name, last name and email: the occupant receives an invitation and can sign in to Nidz with that address.
How do I declare a tenant?
If you are the owner, open the home’s page and, under Current resident, choose Declare a new tenant. Enter their first name, last name and email. If you live in the home yourself, choose I live here instead.
How do I get the Council role?
The Council role is granted by the residence manager, who recognises you as a council member. You can also request it in your access request from the app. Once the role is active, you see the announcements reserved to the council and can publish them.
What the role allows is detailed on the Councils page.
Manager: how do I link a resident to their home?
From your manager space, open the residence then the home and add the occupant (first name, last name, email), stating whether they are the owner, a tenant or a plain resident. They receive an invitation by email and find their residence directly on their first sign-in.
Access requests submitted by residents themselves reach you as notifications: you accept or refuse them from the app.
Manager: how do I add a new residence?
A residence is created from your list of lots (buildings, floors, homes, occupants): send it to us in whatever format you have, we prepare the setup with you and residents receive their invitation. Write to us with the residence name, or book a slot to talk about it.
Communication
How do I contact my manager?
For a problem in the residence, create an incident from the Incidents tab: it is the channel your manager follows every day. For a direct exchange, open a manager’s profile and use messaging.
How do I send a private message?
Open a resident’s profile and choose the message icon, or start a conversation from messaging (icon at the top right) with the + button. Conversations can be one-to-one or in a group.
Where do I see my notifications?
Choose the bell icon at the top right to open the notification centre. You can filter by type or show only unread ones.
Troubleshooting
I am not receiving notifications
Notifications arrive through three channels: in the app, as push on your devices and by email for some content.
- No push on the phone. Check that Nidz notifications are allowed in the phone settings, then in the app’s Settings › Notifications that your device is listed and not muted. Signing out and back in re-registers the device.
- No emails. Content emails (incidents, announcements, discussions, activities) depend on the emails enabled preference in your settings. Check the spam folder too.
- Nothing in the app. Open the notification centre (bell icon): the “unread” filter may be hiding the others.
If the problem persists after these checks, write to us with your phone model.
I can't message a resident
This resident may have turned off messaging in their preferences. You can still reach them through a discussion in the Community or by commenting on an incident that concerns them.
How do I give feedback on my residence's management?
From the My residence tab, open the Your opinion matters card, below your manager’s. Pick a score from 1 to 5, add a comment if you wish, and send. You can stay anonymous towards your manager.
I can't find the answer to my question
Write to us from the support form at the bottom of this page, stating your residence and your account’s email address: we reply by email. For a problem in your residence (breakdown, works, neighbours), report it in the app instead: your manager receives it directly.
No result. Rephrase, or write to us: we also answer the questions that are not here yet.
